About Ugla

Personal AI needs a personal boundary.

Ugla is an independent project by Mikael Pettersson, built in Linköping, Sweden. The goal is simple: make a capable agent easier to run without turning its memory into somebody else's platform.

Who is behind it

Mikael Pettersson

Ugla is currently designed and built by Mikael. Development is public through GitHub, where the architecture, trade-offs, and delivery work can be inspected as the product takes shape.

Working principles

Small control plane. Strong node.

Ugla separates the optional vendor service from the agent runtime so an account outage does not rewrite the ownership model.

Direct by default

An already-paired app uses the node's own API and credential.

One canonical runtime

Managed and self-hosted nodes follow the same release path.

Honest status

Managed hosting and commercial details remain in development; this site does not invent tiers.

Inspectable boundaries

Provider resources stay infrastructure details, not concepts pushed into the app.
